Privacy Policy

Daedalus Theatre Company is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. We engage in a range of professionally run artistic activities but our main activities are staging public theatrical performances and running participatory arts events. This privacy policy explains how we use any personal information we collect about you when you use this website.

What information do we collect about you?

We collect information about you when you register for our mailing list, or if you give consent for us to add you to our mailing list when buying a ticket or completing an audience feedback form. This is all done using MailChimp, which also stores the data on our behalf.

How will we use the information about you?

As a company creating artistic work for the public, keeping people informed about what we do is an essential aspect of our work. The majority of our contact with you will be to let you know about our activities but we may also tell you how you can support us, for example with a donation.

On April 28th 2018, the wording of our sign-up forms changed to conform to new GDPR legislation. If you signed up before then, you agreed to be kept informed of our activities and nothing else. Our new sign-up form, however, gives us permission to send you a wider range of emails, including ones that are primarily about fundraising, such as crowdfunding campaigns. We will only do this occasionally. The main purpose of the mailing list remains the same: to let you let you know about our activities.

If you signed up before April 28th 2018, however, you may wish to update your settings in order to receive more than basic updates from us. You can update your settings or unsubscribe at any time, using the links in the footer of our emails.

We do not store any data ourselves, unless you are a participant or performer and we need it to arrange rehearsals or activities necessary to the running of the company. All mailing list data is securely stored by MailChimp, which strictly adheres to all current legislation on data protection. All Mailchimp’s legal info, including its privacy policy, can be found here. In the event of a data breach, MailChimp is required to inform you.

We do not use cookies on our website and we will not share any of your data with anyone else.

Access to your information and correction

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. We can also tell you what information MailChimp holds about you on our behalf. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information held by us, please email or write to us at 106 Wilmot Street, London E2 0BT.

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. Please just ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.
